The koru
A symbol of personal growth, positive change, awakening, strength, peace, hope and harmony.
The ‘koru’ is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new, unfurling silver fern frond. Its circular shape represents perpetual movement and its inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin. As such, the koru symbolises the way in which life both changes and stays the same. The symbolism of the koru seems perfectly suited to psychological therapy.
